Background

Beez is an impactful outcome of the H2020 MSCA-IF 2018-funded project MicroFSMA. The project aimed to apply microfluidic technology to study biological swimming markers and further exploit them for quality sperm cell collection. The project was hosted at Cherry Biotech, where the founder of Beez, Dr. Shiva K Shukla, led the conception of the technology. The successful delivery of the MicroFSMA encouraged the creation of Beez. 

Beez was initiated in the summer of 2021 and incorporated as SAS at the residential premise of Dr. Shukla. Dr. Dario Fassini has supported the creation financially and invested in advancing technology readiness. Parallelly, the French startup ecosystem "La French Tech Rennes-Saint Malo" showed great trust in the project, and subsequently, Beez was incubated into the organization through the Emergys program. 

Since its creation, Beez has progressed every single day and integrated a small young team with world-class advisory board members. Additionally, Beez has been awarded prestigious regional subventions and credits, including the Horizon Booster, Rennes initiative, Rennes-Saint-Malo experimentation, Inno R&D, and PHAR Emergys, and TEE Concour 2023 Prize ‘FutureBrand”. 

Currently, our headquarter is located at the Biopole, where Beez equipped with a biological lab, and 3D printing-based microfluidic protyping facilities.
